Elle Brooke gives Paige VanZant a harsh new nickname in a tense interview
There is a considerable gulf in experience between the pair with Brooke only having five (4-1) influencer boxing bouts to her name while VanZant, a former UFC fighter, has competed 13 times in pro MMA (8-5) and twice in bare-knuckle boxing (0-2).
However, there have been suggestions VanZant has taken her eye off the ball.
PVZ hasn't fought since getting outpointed by Rachael Ostovich at BKFC 19 in July 2021 and has been very inactive since leaving the UFC four years ago.
In stark contrast, Brooke has been regularly competing every three to four months since taking up boxing in 2022.
Her boxing skills have elevated considerably during that time, which was clear to see in her last fight against ex-Love Island contestant AJ Bunker.
Brooke made her debut against Bunker in July 2022 on a KingPyn Boxing event.
The 26-year-old got her hand raised via unanimous decision but despite hurting Bunker several times, she was unable to put the right punches together to stop the fight inside the distance.
When they rematched in January though, the judges weren't needed as Brooke dominated and knocked out Bunker in round three.
She picked up the Misfits Boxing women’s middleweight title in the process, which will be on the line against VanZant on Saturday.
Ahead of fight night, both women sat down for a face-to-face interview on the Misfits Boxing YouTube channel which proved to be a very awkward watch.
VanZant and Brooke were given a box of questions to ask each other and towards the end of the segment the champion pulled out a slip, which read: "Give your opponent a new nickname."
Brooke paused for a moment before delivering her response: "Fallen off.
"I think recently you're not as talked about anymore. You had your hype when you were in the UFC but now you've lost that pull.
"Whether it is views or people just being interested in you, I think you have fallen off."
