From UFC to BKFC to AEW: Paige VanZant reflects on latest chapter after in-ring debut

Paige VanZant is no stranger to stepping into the spotlight, and her transition from UFC to BKFC to AEW has been nothing short of eventful.

After making her in-ring debut at AEW's Double or Nothing event, VanZant is eager to embark on the next chapter of her career as a professional wrestler.

VanZant's journey to AEW began with her inclusion in storylines involving American Top Team and her subsequent signing to a contract with the promotion.

However, AEW took their time before giving her an in-ring debut, which finally came in a six-person mixed tag match at Double or Nothing in Las Vegas. Despite the delay, VanZant is enthusiastic about the opportunity to showcase her skills in the ring.

In an interview with The Schmo after her debut match, VanZant expressed her satisfaction with the outcome and her eagerness to continue honing her craft.

"I’m feeling great, I went out there, we got the win … I showed everybody I’m meant to be a pro wrestler, too," VanZant said. She also acknowledged that there is always room for improvement and emphasized her commitment to becoming better with each match.

Having trained in pro wrestling for a relatively short period of time, VanZant was pleased with how quickly she was able to pick up the necessary skills. Her performance in the match not only contributed to her team's victory but also sent a message to the rest of the division.

"I just started training pro wrestling, but you got to see how quickly I picked up pro wrestling moves, and I showed all the girls in the division they got somebody to look out for," she said.

With her successful debut behind her, the question now arises as to when AEW might feel VanZant is ready for a singles match.

Despite her relative inexperience in professional wrestling, VanZant's reputation as a hard worker and quick learner has generated anticipation for her potential as a singles competitor.

Drawing parallels to AEW's success in building up similarly inexperienced talent like Jade Cargill, there is optimism surrounding VanZant's future in the promotion.

When asked about the possibility of a singles debut, VanZant expressed her eagerness for the opportunity. "I hope soon," she said. "I came out of this match unscathed, I have zero injuries because I put on a dominant performance.

I can’t wait for my solo match." Her enthusiasm and confidence indicate that she is more than ready to take on the challenge of a singles competition.

VanZant's involvement with AEW has been a balancing act as she continued to make occasional appearances on their programming while also pursuing her bare-knuckle fighting career with BKFC.

With one fight left on her BKFC contract, it remains uncertain when or if she will step into the ring for that final bout. However, her dedication to pro wrestling suggests that she is fully committed to this new chapter in her career.

As Paige VanZant continues to make waves in the world of professional wrestling, her journey from UFC to BKFC to AEW reflects her versatility and determination to succeed in new endeavors.

With her in-ring debut behind her and a promising future ahead, VanZant is poised to leave an indelible mark on the world of professional wrestling.
